You need to work with someone you know, like, and trust, and I thought it would be fun to elaborate! You are also welcome to follow my social media; I am on my way, too.

Favorite thing about my job.

I love the people I meet; I genuinely believe that God has used this industry to bring some special people into my life.  The second best thing is helping people through such an important decision and making health insurance not so overwhelming, especially Medicare.  I intentionally try to learn as much as possible and be a true expert in what I do. When that pays off, finding unique solutions in challenging situations is so rewarding!  There is so much nonsense about health insurance; customer service is lacking, and people need a friend to help them deal with it all. I get to be that friend.

How did I get into Insurance, health insurance, and Medicare?

The first time Medicare hit my radar was when my parents turned 65.  I was listening to my mom’s frustrations and thought, there has got to be a better way!  I just so happened to run into a friend who recently got into Medicare insurance.  After hearing a little about it, I asked her if I could join her at an appointment to see what it was all about. I was hooked.  I learned there was a way to advocate for people who need help and make a career out of it, with hours that fit a mom’s schedule.

Family life.

My husband Paul and I got married in 2006.  Even though we went to high school together, we didn’t meet until ten years later, watching football with friends. We have two kids and two fur babies.  Our lives are busy with sports and driving to sports, lol.  My husband is a sports super fan and loves to watch everything, so we get to go to some fun places.  We have been to a Vikings football game, the Masters, and many Thunder games!  Paul and his brother co-own Concrete Enterprises, a commercial concrete company.  They build huge concrete buildings.

We like to camp in our RV around Oklahoma. I love to cook, do pilates, spend time with my family and dogs, and read books. We are really lucky to have a lot of family who live close to us, and we spend a lot of time with them.

Education

I graduated from Edmond Memorial in 1994; my dad is also a Memorial graduate, and my kids will be, too! My husband and I graduated the same year but didn’t really know each other back then.

After a year at William Wood University, I returned home and went to OU for a year.  Since the only thing I had figured out I wanted to do was have fun, I took a break from school.  Once I had clarified my professional skills and interests, I returned to school at UCO and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.  By the time I had graduated, I was married and eight months pregnant!

Supplement Premiums Are Rising! Stay Savvy, Here’s What You Can Do About It. If you’ve taken a look at your new Medicare Supplement premiums and felt a little “sticker shock,” you’re not alone. With rising rates across the board — including for drug plans — many people are reevaluating their coverage. There are lots of theories about why premiums are increasing, but the truth is: this has been a long time coming. The good news? You still have options — and no, switching to a Medicare Advantage Plan isn’t your only one. Are You on Plan F or Plan G? If you enrolled in Plan F or Plan G when you turned 65, you probably remember how affordable they were — and how comprehensive the coverage was. These were the “Cadillac” plans. But now, with higher premiums, it’s worth asking: is the cost still worth the coverage? Let’s explore your options: 1. Step Down to Plan N Plan N still offers solid coverage, but at a lower monthly premium. It’s a good middle ground for those who want to maintain flexibility without breaking the bank. 2. Consider a High Deductible Plan G This version of Plan G comes with a significantly lower premium, but you’ll have to meet a higher deductible before coverage kicks in. You can pair it with a critical illness or accident plan to help protect against unexpected costs — and still save money ov erall. 3. Take Advantage of the “One-Year Free Look” Not sure if an Advantage Plan is for you? You may be eligible for a one-time, one-year trial of an Advantage Plan with the option to return to a Supplement plan. This lets you try it out without locking yourself in.
