Turning 65
Most people take Medicare when they turn 65. If this is you, you can start enrolling as early as 3 months before your birthday month! Since the Social Security website can be daunting, I walk all of my clients through the Medicare enrollment process.
Once your Medicare is in place, we can work on your insurance selection. You have two main options, Supplement or Advantage plan. With all the mail and phone calls you are receiving, I am sure your head is swimming! We can do a crash course in what you need to know to make a confident decision!
If you would like to attend a local event, see my events page!
Retiring
When you are retiring, moving to Medicare requires planning. I encourage people to start working on it about 2 months before your desired effective date. The rules are a little different than when you are turning 65.
Joining a seminar can be a great help to understand the process! Local events can be found here.

Annual Review October 15th to December 7th
Every year, during this time frame, you have the opportunity to change drug plans or Advantage plans. This is also an opportunity for you to utilize your “One year free look” if you are on a supplement. You can learn more about annual enrollment here.
Sometimes, during your Medicare transition, something goes haywire. Life is crazy and you didn’t have time to give it the attention it needed. You received bad advice from an agent or another agent made a mistake. You took a phone call and next thing you know, an insurance card shows up in the mail. I have seen it all. If you need help to repair your situation, please reach out to me! Even if we can’t make a change now, I can help you make it through the end of the year. This post may be helpful for you!
Maybe things are going just fine but you haven’t taken a look at anything since you first enrolled. It is good to review every few years, even when things are going smoothly. Things change so much every year! Here is a link to expected changes coming up for 2025.
